Kepahiang is a regency of the province of Bengkulu in the south of Sumatra, Indonesia. The capital of the regency is Kepahiang town. At the 2010 Census, Kepahiang Regency had 125,011 inhabitants p the latest official estimate (for January 2014) is 133,073. The regency has a total area of 704.47 sq.km, of which a high percentage (27%) is still forest. The local society consists of various ethnicities such as Rejang Kepahiang, Serawai, Javanese, Lembak and Sundanese.
