South East Bight (SEB) is a small, isolated community located on the western shores of Placentia Bay on the Burin Peninsula. The only way to get to South East Bight is by boat, on the ferry named the Norcon Oceanus. It is sometimes thought to be an island because of this. But the reason is that there are no roads accessing the community. Many people from the community travel to Monkstown in the winter by ski-doo, but is very uncommon to try to get there in the summer, because of marsh, bogs, ponds and hills.
