Tupã is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. The population in 2000, according to IBGE, was 63,333 [1] and the area is 624 km². The city is located in the Alta Paulista Region and it's located 530 km (329.32 sq mi) from capital São Paulo. It was founded on October 12, 1929 by Luiz de Souza Leão a business man that chose the region that were tropical forest.
