Satellite Island is a small island in south-eastern Australia. It is part of the Partridge Island Group, lying close to the south-eastern coast of Tasmania, in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel between Bruny Island and the Tasmanian mainland. It is surrounded by an ancient fossil clad rock shelf, home to an array of local shellfish, including crayfish, native scallops, abalone and oysters. Satellite Island was discovered in 1792 by the French expedition led by Bruni D'Entrecasteaux.
