Thangool /ˈθæŋɡuːl/ is a town in central Queensland, Australia. The town is in the Banana Shire local government area, 591 kilometres (367 mi) north west of the state capital, Brisbane and 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) south of the Shire administrative centre, Biloela. The name Thangool means Possum.
