Ruffle Bar is the name of a small island located in the Jamaica Bay of New York City, just east of Floyd Bennett Field, bordering Brooklyn and Queens. It was once the place of a successful clam and oyster industry, but closed down when the water was deemed by the Department of Health to be too polluted for the breeding of shellfish.
