Palo Verde (Hanyomalivah in Mojave; formerly, Paloverde) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Imperial County, California. Its name comes from the Spanish for stick (palo) and green (verde), sharing its name with the Palo Verde Valley, the valley it is located.
