Map of Griffin, Indiana

Griffin is a town in Bethel Township, Posey County, Indiana, United States, which was incorporated in 1881 and named after Samuel Griffin. The town of Griffin was originally known as "Price's Station!" The town was divided in the center by an E/W directional railroad. Immediately west of the center of town was the railroad depot. The town's first name, "Price's Station," hung outside on the depot. The depot was removed from that location and moved to the southeast corner of town and made into a small convenience store/restaurant and gasoline station. My last name is "Price" and I and many generations of the Price family lived in Griffin. My deceased father, Russell M. Price, lived on a beef/grain farm about 3/8's of a mile due west of the north end of Griffin. My dad, and his deceased father, Dan Price, owned the local grain elevator, Prices Elevator & Grain Company. The population was 172 at the 2010 census.
