The station is owned by not-for-profit broadcasting entity Window to the World Communications, Inc., and is sister to classical music radio station WFMT (98.7 FM). The two stations share studios located on North Saint Louis Avenue, adjacent to Northeastern Illinois University, in the city's North Park neighborhood, WTTW's transmitter is located atop the Willis Tower in the Chicago Loop.
