Capital University is a private accredited liberal arts and research university in the Columbus, suburb of Bexley, Ohio. Capital was founded originally as the Theological Seminary of the "Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Ohio" (formed 1818) in 1830, and later was associated with its successor, the American Lutheran Church. The university has undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as a law school.
