Banian (َUrdu & Pashto بانیاں) is a town, and one of twenty union councils in Battagram District in the Khyber Pukhtunkhwa of Pakistan. The place was named by Bania (caste) of Gujjars, while they formerly ruled the Gurjara Pratihara Kingdom for centuries.
