Ytterøy is a former municipality in Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. It originally encompassed the island of Ytterøya and parts of the mainland to the northwest of the island on the west side of the Trondheimsfjord. The island is located in the present-day municipality of Levanger which is located on the east side of the fjord.
