Volta Region is formerly German Togoland and British Togoland and is one of Ghana's ten administrative regions. It is west of Republic of Togo and to the east of Lake Volta. Its capital is Ho. The native and largest ethnic group is the Ewe people and the language spoken is the Ewe language. There are native ethnic groups like Guans and Akan folks in the Volta Region. The Guans are believed to be the foremost Neolithic groups to have settled in the area and outlying regions.
