The Butterberg in the Harz district of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt lies about halfway between Ilsenburg and Drübeck, at a height of 279 m above NN. From the top, the Harz Foreland and the ridges of the Harz mountains may be seen. The view of Ilsenburg however is almost completely hidden by the nearby Eichholz wood.
