The Three Gorges (simplified Chinese: 三峡; traditional Chinese: 三峽; pinyin: Sānxiá  listen now ), or Yangtze Gorges region is a scenic area along the Yangtze River (Chang Jiang) in the People's Republic of China, which is classified as a AAAAA scenic area (the highest level) by the China National Tourism Administration.
