Ellon (Scottish Gaelic: Eilean) is a town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, approximately 16 miles (26 km) north of Aberdeen, lying on the River Ythan /ˈaɪθən/ which has one of the few undeveloped river estuaries on the Eastern coast of Scotland.
