Funiculaire du Pic du Jer
The Funiculaire du Pic du Jer, or Pic du Jer Funicular, is a funicular railway in the French département of Hautes-Pyrénées. It links the pilgrimage town of Lourdes with the summit of the nearby Pic du Jer.
Lourdes (Gascon Occitan Lorda or Lourde) is is a small market town lying in the foothills of the Pyrenees. It is part of the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Midi-Pyrénées region in south-western France and is most famous for the Marian apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes said to have occurred in 1858 to Bernadette Soubirous.
