Nový Jičín (Czech pronunciation: [ˈnoviː ˈjɪt͡ʃiːn]; German: Neutitschein) is a town in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has ca. 26,500 inhabitants. The city is situated on the spurs of the Carpathian Mountains about 30 km (19 mi) from the Czech Republic's 3rd biggest city, Ostrava.
