Alto de Pinheiros is a district in the subprefecture of Pinheiros of the West Zone of São Paulo, Brazil.
Mauá (IPA: [ma'wa]) is a municipality in the state of São Paulo, in Brazil. Is part of the metropolitan region of São Paulo. The population as of 2006 is 413,943 inhabitants (11th largest city in population number of the state), the density is 6,645.4/km² and the area is 62.6 km². The density is in fact bigger, since one third of the city is occupied by industries and 10% is countryside or forest. Its name comes from the Tupi language and means the one that is high. As it's a municipality, it can also be translated as high city.
