Białowieża [bʲawɔˈvʲɛʐa] (Belarusian: Белавежа, Biełavieža) is a village in Poland, in Podlaskie Voivodeship, in the middle of Białowieża Forest, of which it is a namesake. The population of the settlement is 2,000 (2002).
Hajnówka ([xai̯ˈnufka]; Belarusian: Гайнаўка, Hajnaŭka) is a town and a powiat seat in north-eastern Poland (Podlaskie Voivodeship) with 21,583 inhabitants (2009). It is the capital of Hajnówka County. The town is also notable for its proximity to the Białowieża Forest, the biggest primaeval forest in Europe. Through Hajnówka flows the river Leśna Prawa (be: Лясная Правая).
