El Remate is a small tourism based town located on the lakeshore of Lake Petén Itzá in Petén, Guatemala. The village has small eco-friendly hotels, small artesanal workshops and offers visitors a visit to the lake. It is located on the eastern part of the lake, where the lake ends could be the best translation of what El Remate, means in Spanish.
