Bootle (pronounced /ˈbuːtəl/) is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton in Merseyside. The town was formerly known[when?] as Bootle-cum-Linacre and has a total resident population of 77,640. By the time of the 2011 Census population figures for Bootle were no longer maintained.
