Chinchayqucha (Quechua chincha, chinchay north, northern, chinchay ocelot, qucha lake, lagoon, "northern lake" or "ocelot lake", hispanicized spelling Chinchaycocha) or Junín Lake (Spanish Lago Junín, named after the town Junín, the center of the ancient Repartimiento de Chinchaycocha) is the largest lake entirely within Peru. Even though Lake Titicaca has a much larger area, its eastern half is located on Bolivian territory.
