Riyadh (/rɨˈjɑːd/; Arabic: الرياض‎ ar-Riyāḍ  Najdi pronunciation: [er.rɪˈjɑːdˤ], "The Gardens") is the capital and largest city of Saudi Arabia. It is also the capital of Riyadh Province, and belongs to the historical regions of Najd and Al-Yamama.
